I am so happy to report that all six cygnets are surviving and thriving on our local pond! If you look at this photo you would think this one is growing up just a bit too fast!!
As well as the cygnets on our local pond there are also six on “Osprey Loch”. The loch is much bigger than the pond so it was harder to get close to the cygnets there.
I also saw two goslings with their parents and hope it is not from the same family which I photographed with four yellow goslings a few weeks ago.
On the canal in Kirkintilloch the pair of swans which have nested near the marina have got nine cygnets! I went to see them the other evening. They look to be a good few weeks old already.
Here the swan and her cygnets are having their supper.
Of course there is always at least one messy eater in every family!
Here’s hoping the swan family at the canal continue to thrive too.
